The HomeTrust Banking Partners - HomeTrust Bank, Tryon Federal Bank, Shelby Savings, Home Savings Bank, and Rutherford County Bank have developed the idea to combine our resources in partnership, allowing us to develop new products and services, acquire new technology, and become a full-service hometown community bank.

HomeTrust Bank -- Clyde Savings Bank ~ Since 1926
On March 1, 1926, a group of farmers and businessmen gathered around a pot-bellied stove and resolved to combine their savings to help families in the community build homes. Together they formed Clyde Savings Bank (originally Clyde Building and Loan).
At that time, business was conducted in an office in the Bank of Clyde. Later the fledgling institution moved to the Clyde Pharmacy, where customers could make a deposit and enjoy an ice cream cone at the same time. In January, 1951 the bank built its first office on Main Street in Clyde, where customers found it more convenient to conduct their business.
Today, the Clyde office is located just down the road in a modern, state-of-the-art facility, with six additional offices located in Asheville, East Asheville, Hendersonville, Skyland, Waynesville, and Weaverville.

Tryon Federal Bank ~ Since 1935
Tryon Federal Bank was founded in 1935 by a group of Polk County business people, at a time when homes were built by the combined efforts of family, friends, and neighbors. Tryon Federal helped families own homes by providing loans and a safe haven for savings.
The bank's growth was slow and steady until after World War II when veterans returned and wanted homes for their young families. Those vets were determined to put the war and the Great Depression behind them. And the folks at Tryon Federal were equally determined to help them. And they did.
Stronger than ever, Tryon Federal remains committed to serving the needs of its community.

Shelby Savings Bank ~ Since 1905
Fourteen Shelby residents formed Shelby Savings in 1905. It was originally called Shelby Building and Loan Association and was capitalized with only $125.
Back then, the town had fewer than 2,500 residents. The first loan was granted to Z.J. Thompson. Mr. Thompson borrowed $700 to build a house at 612 West Warren Street, a dwelling that is still standing and in use.
Today, Shelby Savings continues to grow and thrive, working to serve its community.
